Slingerland/ Gretsch snares

I picked up these weird ones today but i have no idea about that Gretsch model...i know that the throw off, butt plate and muffler aren't original to this drum but the shell seems to be aluminum. The paint jod could be factory or not...As for the Slingy, i have heard of 2 to 1 snares but this shell is copper. Any info on these would be appreciated. Thanks.

Keep fixing them up...

The Slingy 2 to 1 is probably late 1970s maybe? I have a brass 2 to 1 with a foil badge, which would put it in the mid 1980s. Yours has a "real" badge, so I'm assuming it's earlier than mine. Check the Doctor's serial number chart. I also don't have the stick saver hoops on mine, so I'm quite jealous of that! Should be a great sounding instrument, and the TDR throw is one of the best ever.

The Gretsch was a 1980s chrome over brass model. It originally had a Lightning throw, probably a fishtail butt and chrome lugs and hoops.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
