[COLOR="DarkRed"]The pics don't expand in size when you click on 'em...BUT...the tom mount looks stock, and that is definitely an asian tom mount, it's not an American Slingy tom mount system...so, based on badge and that, I would lean towards it being an asian-produced kit.

I would pass on it. I mean, quite honestly, you can nab a very nice older Slingerland kit on eBay for very, very reasonable. For some reason, they usually don't go quite as haywire in bids as, say, a Rogers or Gretsch kit.

According to Rob Cook's Slingerland Book, this kit is from the mid '80s, when Gretsch owned Slingerland, and is from the Artists Classic Series. Made from American Maple, assembled in Taiwan.

thanks for the info guys. I think someone on this forum may have picked that kit up, I told the seller I was no longer interested.

THe slingerland drums from later on in the companies history to look out for are the ones with the Ridgeland, S.C. badge huh? I did a little more research and it seems like those drums were basically gretsch jasper shells with slingy lugs and badges on them. prolly nice drums.. and there are some black ridgeland toms on ebay right now for dirt cheap. the seller said he had a kick too but isnt listing it yet
