Slingerland Festival Snare w/ Zoomatic

Loading...

I've got a 70's era Slingerland snare that has a Festival steel shell with a Zoomatic strainer and butt plate. I thought the Festival came with the cheaper Rapid strainer. There aren't any extra holes from a previous Rapid strainer or plate so it seems to have come from the factory with the Zoomatic.

Was this an option from Slingerland? Any idea what this beasty is?

Thanks,

Mark

It would be chrome over brass and have three "lines" around the shell also, but he said it's a steel shell? Sound King came in the 5 or 6.5 inch depth, so I suppose a 5 inch Sound King could be mistaken for a Festival. They both have ten lugs as well.

Does the drum have the lines?

No, it's not a sound king. Shell is steel (magnet sticks) and it doesn't have the 3 lines (I have a Sound King).

Having problems with uploading an image.

Giving it another try.

Here's the strainer mount screws. No extra holes.

Yes, magnet sticks to inside of shell.

I swapped the Zoomatic strainer from this drum onto an Artist of mine because the knob was intact so the picture I'm posting of it is mounted on the champagne artist.

I'll include a close-up of the Festival with the current Zoomatic I installed that has a non-original knob. Sorry for any confusion. Remember, the original strainer is now on the champagne drum. But it obviously bolted right on in about 1 minute.

The butt plate is the one that came with the Festival.

Hope that helps.

Special order, or an undrilled Festival shell escaped from the plant and got outfitted later on by someone. Dr CJW might have a clue. You might try to PM, or contact Webmaster to email him.
