Slingerland Dream set WOW!!

Loading...

It took me 35 years to complete this set, 95% done, still looking for those rare 6/8" toms, anyway I still remember my dad taking me to the Niles plant which was a few miles from our house in Elmwood Park, and he bought me my first set, I cherish it as much today as I did back then, I added a few drums over the years, same era, the set consists of.

2 24" bass drums Concert toms 10/12" suspended toms 12/13" 14/15"

Floor toms 16/18/20" (yes I said 20") only one problem is I have to hire a cab to drive me from my 10" tom over to my floor toms, I can't reach all the drums, maybe someone can enlighten me as to how to set this up so I can reach em all, I can't even reach the bass drums and be able to hit the snare?

Holy Smokes that's a BIG set!

And I thought I had a big one. Ok maybe I can help somewhat.

I had mine set pretty much like your's is now. Same issue couldn't reach everything.

So just sat behind and start moving them. Mine ended up in almost a half moon setup.I can reach all now.

Main problem was where to set the hi hat stand. It was to close to the drums and the foot pedal was to far away from the left bass pedal.

So I searched for a used remote hihat and found a nice one. Now the hihat pedal is right next to the left bass pedal and the pie's are to my right. Now I can play open handed. I also added a closed set of hats on the left clamped to one of the cymbal stands.

Super super nice set you have.

Joe

That's one sweet kit! I'll bet the hardest ones to find were the Concert Toms, those are rare.
