Slingerland denim question

Loading...

From idrum4fun

Here's a 5.5x14 Artist snare drum, wrapped in Denim, that sold on eBay back in February, 2007. The selling price was $355. The drum is all original and in good condition. Because the snare drum is fairly rare, it would probably sell for more today!-Mark

Thanks! He (my friend with the denim kit) still uses the snare for live shows. It's in a warehouse in Germany so I haven't seen that one yet. Plus he really likes it so he wants to keep that one. Don't know about the condition of it but since he's been using it live for years I don't think it's in the same condition as the one on your pictures...

I have a friend that has a 22,12,13,16 and he has had it for sale for a long time. He may have sold them at this point but I think it took forever. They are interesting for sure.

Wow....This must have been Slingerland's response to Ludwig's Black Panther (or visa-versa). Every time one of these two companies did something new or "outrageous", then the other one would follow! Back then, it was all about Ludwig and Slingerland. After that, there were those other two companies....;(

The idea of wrapping a drum in fabric just doesn't seem like a good idea. But, hey, all the kids were wearing denim and denim was THE material, so why not wrap drums in it, too....right?

A set like this, without the snare drum is waaaaay less interesting and will make it harder to sell.
