I have a Gene Krupa chrome snare from the 60's. I think. Everything checks out OK as original except the stick saver rims. They are not the chrome over brass (magnet test) which they used back then. But they don't appear to be new manufacture because their some very light flaking to them. They look 30 years old. Did Slingerland quit using chrome over brass at some time back then?
