Hi!!!

First of all I am very excited to be joining the forum!!

I have been a Working Latin Percussionist for over 28 years now.

My question relates to SLINGERLAND Conga Drums. While I realize that Slingerland's fame and fortune was made with their incredible Trap Drumsets, everybody knows of course about their legendary Timbales that even the great TITO PUENTE endorsed for a time in the late 50s to early 60s.

But even rarer are the Slingerland Conga Drums of which I recently acquired a set of two in almost pristine condition.

I can't find them in any Slingerland catalog. my guess is that they are from the late 60s or early 70s.

The color is like a seafoam green and they are incredible sounding Congas!!

I have played them all, especially the fiberglass drums, and these drums give a run for their money to LPs,Echotones,or anything from that time.

I would very much like information on them. The only thing I know so far is that the great PATATO VALDES once used and loved SLINGERLAND before endorsing LP.The Band
