I have a lead on a 1973 Slingerland Clear Phantom kit-five piece kit in pretty good condition-anyone give me a ballpark range on its value?

Don't know their worth, but you sure don't see many! Certainly worth investigating.

Check out the thread "Phantom Sling." There's lots of discussion there about some that have been available in the past, including mine, which I picked up for $750 (no snare). I think that might be on the low end of the scale because it showed a bit of wear, although nothing that a little TLC couldn't correct.

If it's in good shape and comes with a matching snare, who knows? I don't think $1,500 is unrealistic.

As always, please post photos if they're available. It's tough to make a blind call.

I'll admit to a Slingerland bias, but I A-B'ed them against a set of clear Vistalites that I used to own and definitely preferred the Phantoms.
