Is it just me? LOL
Is this too good to be true?
I didn't know they made a chrome Radio King.
I smell another Slingerland deal that smells like fish. LOL

That's a Slingerland Sound King, chrome over brass with Zoomatic strainer, as shown here:

Great drum for 100 bucks. Looks to be in nice shape!

I wanted to confirm before mentioning it, but there was a chrome-over-brass Radio King:

...and here's one on eBay:

The Radio King in that 1960's catalog picture has a totally different snare and the Sound King is lacking the 3 stripes in the shell.
The Sound King in the 1970's catalog picture looks close. I think you hit the winner there.
$120 new in 1976.
Thanks. You guys really know your stuff.
I didn't notice the stripe-less drums in the 1963 catalog scan. In general, Slingerland chrome drums with stripes were brass. Drums without stripes were steel. At least through the Chicago/Niles years. (I remember seeing something recently about a 1980s Asian-made Slingerland steel snare that had the three stripes.)

The Festival had no stripes and appears to be COS after '71 by the catalog scans. Listed as COB until then.
Sound Kings, stripes or not, were COB.
I don't know much after '79 or so...........

Best indicator of the age would be a pic of the badge and a readable serial number, which the one photo offered doesn't give us.
If I were interested, I would contact the seller and ask for more pics and info.
