I have been told that Slingerland made a chrome over wood snare, similar to the one Ludwig makes. I have looked in my catalogs, but cannot find any mention of one, only chrome over brass.
Can you please enlighten me?

Chrome wrap was an option. There are alot of 1970s Slingys out there
with chrome wrap. Not sure when chrome wrap was introduced.

[COLOR="Navy"]Yes, Niles Slingerland began offering its Chrome finish as early as 1968, and kept it straight through 1986. This wrap was chrome-plated steel, though the version in the waning Niles years was plastic. Slingerland's Chrome finish was particularly popular in the mid to late 1970s. In any case there were many snare drums in many models made, 1968 - 1986.
