Here is the listing for the archives:

WOW. This is a truly incredible late 1920's snare drum, of which it is believed only 13 exist!

This is a Slingerland 5x14 Artist Series Black Beauty Snare Drum, from 1928-1932. This mythical snare features amazing engravings in the black nickel exterior, in which the Slingerland logo can be seen in place of a badge. This is the genuine article, and any collector ought to consider this true piece of art.

As far as condition goes, this snare is completely unrestored. All original, no extra holes or modifications. One side of a tube lug needs to be retapped, there's a rip in the bottom side calfskin head, and there's a very apparent patina that's developed during the 90 years this snare's been around.

Don't let this deal pass you by!

Cheers

WOW

That is some price tag.

Minutes ago I just got an 80s acrolite from Goodwill. Very good shape with original heads, snares in original hard case with stand. Looks like some part of house clean out. They did not even post it as an acrolite, just Ludwig drum. Got it for ..............$49.99

At that price, I would hope it finds a caring home!

Personally, I'd put it under glass and just look at it....

Personally I think most rare drums will hit those numbers....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
