Slingerland beaver tail lugs question...

I have a mid 70's slingerland kit that i'm probably gonna re-wrap pretty soon, and was wondering if it would be possible to replace the existing lugs, with the old beaver tail lugs. There isnt any thing wrong with the lugs on it now, but I really like the way the beaver tails look. Question 1-Would they fit? Question 2-Would I have to painstakingly search for 50 something vintage lugs, or is there some where that sells a decent replica?

there is a slight hole placement difference in the two lugs, Check drum maker, here they may have what you need. http://www.drummaker.com/

Actually, they would be cheaper here, and they are the same part. Here is the tom lug: http://www.drumfactorydirect.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_9_83&products_id=2304

And here is the bass lug: http://www.drumfactorydirect.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_9_84&products_id=2289

And if you are doing te snare as well, here is a bonus, on sale on the front page: http://www.drumfactorydirect.com/

Pardon me, but I was unaware, drummaker no longer sells the B/T lugs.

Yeah I didn't think drummaker had them, because i'm there all the time. But thanks a lot jonnistix! A lot cheaper than I thought they would be. vintagemore2000, your saying these wont fit a regular mid-70's slingerland lug hole spacing? If so, i'm really bummed now, since I didn't think i'd be able to find these as easily, and as cheap as that :p

I think you need to bore out the 2 lug holes ever so slightly for 40's-50's BT lugs to fit...............

Hmm…I really like these lugs, but I hate to drill on my drums. Has anyone ever done this?

You don't have to drill..........just need a round file

Well, maybe it not as big of a deal as I thought it might be. Is it because of the hole spacing? Or is it because the holes are too small for the lugs to fit into?
