Slingerland bass t-rods

Anyone know what year in the sixties the Slingerland bass t-rod handles changed from the style in pic 1 to pic 2?

The first pic is from a '63 bass and the second is a '68.

I've got a 1965 BD with t-rods as in pic 1, so that narrows it down a bit more.

Yep, looks that way.... maybe 68-69 was a little transition thing going on there.

69 is really hard to tell in the Slingerland catalog. I tried to blow up the pictures but they just distort.

I was doing that too, but then I remembered Webmaster saying that Slingerland used the same pics in more than one year's catalogs.

OK that explains that. Because I was wondering in some of the 70's catalog's the drums looks the same as in the 60's ones. Thought I was seeing things.DOH
