Hey Everyone, I'm new to this forum.... I thought maybe someone here can help me identify a drum I have.
I picked up this drum at a yard sale years ago, and I thought maybe i could do something with it. Someone had the bright idea of turning it into a christmas decoration.... removed the original finish.. painted the hoops and glued some kind of christmas wrapping paper around the shell.
So.. it's in bad shape, but I can't really identify it. I am pretty sure it's a Slingerland. The lugs are Stremlined lugs, indicative of Slingerland.... but I am not too sure. The washers on the inside of the shell, have both Ludwig and slingerland stamps. Most of them are Slingerland.
So, the shell construction seems kinda odd. Maybe this can be a clue? Also, there are no badges :(
Take a look at these pics. Can anyone identify it? Is it worth "saving"?

Update: there are some wooden "hoops" nailed to the out side of the shell. You can see in the pics, there are white "hoops" underneath the "real" red wood hoops. I am pretty darn sure those aren't original and were put in place to keep the real hoops tight when placed into position.
Also, I started taking off the wall paper, and there are two layers.. and it looks like it was once painted blue perhaps? i don't suppose the old glue used for the original laminate was blue?
