Hey,

I have a 1971 Slingerland Buddy Rich Outfit No. 80N in Mahogany Lacquer finish in pretty slick condition up for sale. It comes with the matching snare and a Gene Krupa COB snare. Price is negotiable. If you're interested send me a reply or PM me.

If the price is right, I'll include a fresh cooked breakfast right inside the box.

Thanks.

He's not really selling it. He is turning it into a couch or a television!!! LOL

Actually, I don't have television in my house. I have monitors that display digital media contained on my computers that is beamed all across my house. I wouldn't have television stations in my house if they paid me. I program my own viewing pleasures.

If it sells, it will go towards a custom leather sofa my wife has her eye on. If not, no big deal. She's still going to get it. It will just come out of a different pocket.

Yes, the Krupa is included. I figured that someone would want it. I love the snare, but it just "goes" with the Buddy kit so well. I didn't want to break them up. Strange, I know. But, that's how I see drums.

Well...my wife and I bought a new house and she wants to decorate. I'm thinking of parting with a drum kit to "do my part" in purchasing part of a couch or a TV or whatever. This isn't the first time. My bedroom suit is complements of my Recording Custom kit, blah blah blah. So, I'm considering parting with my Slingerland kit. Pics are on the forum. You guys have seen it naked and alone, so you know what we are dealing with.

22x14, 13x9, 16x16, 14x5.5 all matching Mahogany finish

I will most likely include hardware, but I'm not positive. I really like this stuff. Could you give me a feel for without h/w and then with? That would help.

I'll put two pics here, but goodness knows you have seen enough of this kit.

HmmmmHmmmmHmmmm

You will have to excuse my confusion. When you wrote this, I assumed you were talking about a television, TV, not a monitor.

Nope. She wants a large flat screen "tv" monitor. She prefers the LCD's. We are doing our research on those.

I have a feeling your are picking, so I'm going to end this line of comms. It's really irrelevant and non-essential information. Bottom line - I'm parting with a kit so the wife can have some fun money. It's really not that big of a deal.

I love the marketing approach.....

Mcjnic, I'm hoping for a Mahogany finish on those '58 Slingy shells I posted earlier....

Would you say that a Mahogany stain with an application of several thin layers of uncoloured lacquer is a better option than using a pigment infused lacquer?

Thanks!!

Absolutely! You can nail the color with precision when you work with just the stain. Then, you can make decisions on the layering of the clear coat. You can make it thin, like some of the more modern kits or make it as thick as Yamaha did on their RTC kits. Those were like plastic coatings, it was so thick. If you only use the color/lacquer mix, you are forced into the limitations of the ratio of stain:lacquer. That's too restricting for a sweet set of drums.

I'm thinking 1700.00 for the whole shootin' match...buyer pays shipping:

22x14 bass, 16x16 floor, 13x9 tom, matching 14 snare and 14 krupa COB snare, correct hihat stand, snare stand, and 2 cymbal stands, and 2 bass mount cymbal L's and the long tom arm.

No extra holes, repairs done (normal Slingerland stuff), and all original lugs, screws, etc.

What do you think? I've posted elsewhere for some guidance on price but received no assist. Am I in the ballpark???
