Hi Bobby, Welcome to the forum. Your drums were probably made by Gretsch. Gretsch bought Slingerland in the 80's and made a few of the drums using left over Sligerland stock and then started using Gretsch stock and then went overseas with production. look at the links above under Vintage Drum Identification. Click on Slingerland drums and start reading. at the end of the 2nd paragraph, click here. look for the post niles 1989-2008 in Slingerland Drum Badge Timeline Part 2. I have a post niles set and they aren't valued highly like the Niles era slingys. Also, they are not considered vintage and you may not get an opinion as to value. I paid $300 for my set and suspect I paid too much. Of course yours were probably the high end model and should be worth more. Some of the experts will chime in.

BTW: Nice set. A drummer friend of mine came over to play my kit and was impresed with the sound. he really liked them.

You don't have much interest due to the fact that your set is a later model Slingerland and not so desirable. Early slingys carry the demand for cash.

If your in a real bind and aren't playing them,just take what's offered. I think if you got between $3-$450 maybe $5 hundred you have done well.

Slingerland made a bunch of changes not for the better in the 80's and 90's,also were sold. The quality went down and so did the desire of owning a slingerland kit. Keep this in mind as well as the current economy.
