And why would you need anything else...
I'm in the midst of restoring a 'Rock' outfit model 50N or the 'Modern Solo' model 2R. I'm not sure of the model since both had the same size and type of drums. It was the stands that made the difference. From '68 or '69, not sure as I still haven't looked up the badges.

Those drums mean a lot to me.
The high-hat that I use on gigs is a 1970 model but I have the style, with the leather pull, that came with the set and an orignal stool.
The cymbals are:
19" medium ride
14" medium crash
14" light crash - riveted (makes for a great recording splash).
15" hi-hats
My other set is the larger 1970 double tom Slingerland kit covered in copper. The copper has held up fairly well.
The hardware is much heavier.
I'll photo them when I get a chance.
I just got through rebuilding the Slingerland period pedals.
On gigs I must admit, I use a Ludwig Speed King. I have two of them that I've rebuilt.

A beautiful Modern Solo 2R! My first Slingerland catalog, #68, was given to me by my high school band teacher. The two kits I wanted the most were the GK kit and the Modern Solo...which was featured in Sparkling Red Pearl! I really liked the dual 12" toms!
I'm simply amazed that your original #171 dual-tom holder has weathered the years and gigs!
To be technically correct, the tone control knobs on the rack toms were actually designed to face towards the back of the bass drum, rather than forward as you have them set up. I'm just nitpicking here, so please forgive my "anal" attitude towards vintage drums!

My '66 Modern Solo kit has one tone control knob that faces in and one that faces out... that has always driven me crazy!!
Mr. Pate... how do you keep the inward angle on your toms?? My kit came with a piece of hose on the post to hold the bottom of the drums apart and keep the set angle on toms. That has long since dry rotted and I have to keep a little block I fashion to hold the angle I want... otherwise they hang angled out.
Well, I never really noticed the correct position of the tonal adjustments.

I guess I'm more of a player than a purest.
As for the toms mount, I had to replace it.
I used a piece of flat steel and shaped it, drilled it and then polished it.
I started to have it chromed but just decided that it wasn't worth the trouble.
All you have to do is reverse them left & right...then the knob will be in the back. Of course, you'll have to consider retuning them I guess...if they are tuned high to low from left to right.
