Slingerland 1965 in Africa

Loading...

Hello everyone. The owner of this kit passed and I'm helping his wife find it a new home. The owner was a professional jazz drummer and the kit was well kept.

It's a black Slingerland Gene Krupa de Lux from Oct 1965 with original Niles I Illinois badges; currently in South Africa.

The cymbals include a 1970's Zildjian crash and ride,

1970's era hi-hats plus two crashes and Zildjian ZXT ride.

Some of this information might be vague but I'm just the messenger. I will soon go myself and get more detailed photos and descriptions of the Cymbals.

In the mean while, can anyone tell me how to go about this?

Are there any collectors in South Africa that I can get in touch with or are people willing to pay for shipping fees on Cymbals???

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what these goods are worth?

Please help.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Look on YT, some jazzmen in the 1980s did use pinstripes.

From that one picture, I can see that the metal bass drum hoop on the front needs to be replaced by a proper wooden hoop. Otherwise, from what I can see from that one picture, this looks to be a very nice Slingerland drum set. I think that jaghog's price suggestion for the drums with cymbals and stands seems right. However..........I would want to inspect the drums up close before laying out the money.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

May just be a reflection on the front BD hoop. More and better pictures needed.
