(just looked at the Slinger Catalog link) Oh, that one.....that "New Super Sound King" with the fancy double strainer - where there you have it right there!......why, that thing's only worth $135! and this drum's got 40 years of use! "As soon as you drive it off the lot"....shooooot....

(just kidding!!!)

That's a beauty! I used to have a Tama Imperial Star, die cast hoops, with the dual strainer like that with the internal rod and all......cool drum.....but I must admit I would prefer this Slinger over that all day long! I used to have a drum very similar to this (a 1966) though did not have the original strainer. I used it alot, including recording with it. It had a great loud projecting crack - it was the 90s - it was dramatic 'alternative' rock.

The new owner of this will surely be blessed!

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I thought I would throw this out there, I have my snare listed on e bay, opening bid of $399................I had a guy send me a message offering me $350 off ebay, not sure what to do, so I thought I would ask here if anyone is interested before I make a decision. this is a fine drum. one owner.

On eBay you'll lose $60 in fees if you get your starting price.

I,d take it to the show. I have experienced the buying frenzy there a few years ago. There are folks waiting at the doors to be let in and they are READY to buy, trust me. I had a table and was sold out by noon the first day. I realized i sold everything to low and kicked myself for it...Hang on to your price you want, not what they want.Jump For Joy

Here is some background on my Super Sound King snare, I bought it brand new at the Niles Slingerland plant some 40 years ago, around 1969. She is a beauty, 6.5 x 14 10 lug. all original except for heads and wires. This snare has been with me ever since, I gigged with it early in my days, but for the last 30 some years it has been sitting in an enclosed case, in my home. I have some pics here, I was going to put her up on e bay with an opening bid at $499, if someone here wants it I'll take of 50 bucks. she is in fantastic shape, any questions just ask.

I think herein lies the confusion about the numbers...the old missing "f"...at first look, I too thought you were asking 50 bucks for her, not taking 50 bucks off the $499 ebay opening bid...stupid "f's"...they'll get you every time!LoLoLoLo

The snare is sold, what happened was I had 6 hours left on the auction, (no bids 7 watching) I decided I would hold the drum till the drum show in may,and pulled the drum off auction. so I get a message from a guy who was watching it and asked why I pulled it? I told him why, he makes an offer I can't refuse, done deal. best part NO FEES!!!
