Sling aluminum snare

I have my eye on two snare, would like some feedback on what would be a better route to go,

1. 1960 5x14 8 lug

2. 1970 5x14 10 lug

the 8 lug is in better shape, but I heard 10 lugs are more rare, what do you think? both are great deals, under $150

I justed picked up this snare its in mint cond, got it home, sounds kind of tinty, heads were super tight, maybe a little adjusting might help, I know the shell would be different, even if i don't play it, sure looks nice, LOL

My reaction as well, sounded a little tiney, but I was comparing to my Dyna...not a very fair comparison.:D

I date mine, 8 lug, mid to late 1970. It also has lug backing plates.
