Nope. try 10 or 12.U just put a coat wait for it to dry to a haze then rub it in then you repeat it allover? basically. I like to wait 10 or 15 minutes between coats(mostly cause my arm is tired)

you'll think it's worth it when you see it done.

if you gotta go powered, what you want is one of those small auto buffers with adjustable speed.

gets down to like 75 rpm.........

...........but you can't beat well washed 100% cotton flannel and a couple a beers.

They look great. To get the hardware off get an electric drew driver. They are small, cheap and don't develop enough torque to damage anything. You will get the hardware off and back on in no time.

If you are going to do a lot of work on your drums or anticipate a lot of head changes and tuning, I highly recommend building a rotating table. Mine is a 24" octagon (as I was in a hurry and did not feel like cutting a circle) with a lazy Susan type fitting and carpet glued to it. It makes all of this kind of work MUCH faster. Set your drum on it and rotate it around. I might have spent $15 and 20 min making mine.

I don't know what a "drew driver" is. It's my iPhone and I'll have spelling mistakes when it wants me to. That should be a "screw driver" of course.

I use a 18" lazy suzan and I have a swivel tv thing i use for bass drums. A drill bit drum key helps a lot too. I use a small snap on screw gun too. Flat screws suck though. The bit tends to slip off of them. Why do they even make flat head or straight head screw anyway? lol

Dude, you are obsessing over the wrap fade. They look cool as is so I'd just get 'em back together and start enjoying that great vintage Luddy sound. They're never going to be collector grade and if you REALLY wanted the original color back I'm afraid it would involve chemicals, etc. and then you never know what the outcome might be. Could be better or could be worse. There is a guy on another forum that unyellowed a WMP kit with great success. Then the wrap kind of looked cloudy so he had to buff it with some wax I think. Anyhow, I was wondering if it would work for SBP? But if I effed it up I would be extremely ****ed that I just didn't leave well enough alone. Mine are almost ready to go. My hoops need repainting and I need to replace a few drum heads and I'm in businesss.

and it says 3,500 RPM ... I'm guess i shouldnt be using this on any more drums right? It didnt ruin my floor tom but I am scared to use it now!

I think im just gonna put my skins on it and play. i am having withdraws

Dude i hate the flat screws! Thats why my whole kit had for the lug hardware! It sucked so bad!

I need to make a lazy suzan for my lazy self!
