I'm keeping them!!! At this point I just can't let these go. I've removed the blue vinyl sticker stuff and it's left a sticky adhesive all over the wrap. I was told goo gone was good to use but I wondered if there was anything easier or better. Please help me restore these beautiful shells! And if any anyone has a 20" to match give me a shout!

Good decision! Try the Goo-Gone and if that doesn't do the trick try Motsenbockers Lift-Off. Leave it on long enough to dissolve the adhesive and wipe off with a soft cotton cloth.
I'll keep my eyes open for a 20" for you! Again, good call keeping the SBP's.

I've always had success with Goo Gone. Some members have told success stories using just WD40, but I'd be wary of using it on wrap. Maybe chrome and metal hardware, but not wrap.
Curtis, please post some close-up pics once you get that vinyl or contact-paper stuff off. Glad you're keeping those.

I used the goo gone. It worked well. I bet my arm and should hurt tomorrow! Getting old suck!

Curtis when I was doing that paint removal tests from old wraps.......the press wash was excellent at removing the 60+ year old glue off the Gretsch WMP John sent me. BTW there is a citrus based adhesive remover I have at work. It was a free sample we were sent by a supply vendor and I forget the name. But it also worked very well. Safe to use and a green product. If you haven't done the removal by Monday I'll see what the name is and post it for you.

I have the parts soaking right now.
I for sure need the bottom rims for both 14 and 12 as well as tension rods for them. I may need a few screws and washers when I put these back together. Im not in a hurry but I did want to clean these up quickly and get them in a safe spot. Ill be back with a new pic and update about whats next with these.
EDIT - Forgot to mention the hardware is nickel.
Curtis - I have one Ludwig 6-hole 14" nickel hoop. How many lugs on the floor tom? If you want it, pm me. I don't have any nickel rods, but I do have a ton of Ludwig screws, washers etc. I'll be happy to send the parts to you for your project. I want to see those puppies ready to play!

PS - Check this out! Because it's a raw shell that's been painted inside, you can probably get this one cheap! Go for it! You can plug the small extra holes and re-paint the interior white and the drum will be completely serviceable.
