Well, this year we have a white Christmas. With a vengeance. It has been white out conditions most of the day, and as I went about the Christmas Eve ritual of gathering up the forgotten, and grabbing the last minute procratinated, I ran into another drummer. We talked for a few minutes, and I found a new teacher, who is willing to take on new students, at a fraction of the cost of others. Upon my further probing as to his seemingly lower rates, and for an hour, indtead of a half hour, he simply said "it is for the love of the instrument, not the love of money, but if you don't charge, there is no incentive to practice".
