Single-tension tuning systems

Loading...

Sorry to revive an old thread...

I could use y'all's advice:

I have a 28" WFL Single-Tension bass drum w/ orig. calfskin heads. Could I damage the heads if I flipped every other tension rod and tuned the reso head higher than batter? This would give me 6 t-rods per side and hopefully more control over resonance w/o muffling/dampening.

I won't hurt anything, I use a tama tension watch to tune my drums, I was curious about single tension drums as I had alot of them then, to my surprise the single rods have more torque on the side with tension side not the claw side, So in effect. I generally tune my bottom or resonate head tighter than my batter head. So if the side with the tension rods where you're using either a drum key or the t- handles will have more torque than the claw only side, hope this helps ?

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
