Silver Sparkle Turned Gold

Loading...

Well I have these almost put back together and ready to play. Just need to get some legs. I guess these later 60's Slings take the thicker legs? Well I have those but I got the wrong brackets for them. Will the other brackets look like these ones? (Posted a pic below) Maybe I will just put some thin legs on here for now until I run across the right brackets. I think these are 69 and the "New Rock Set" I think its called in the catalog. Thanks everyone. Wanted to get opinions on what I should do for a new inlay on the bass drum hoop. Do I get a silver sparkle or try to get a gold sparkle to match? I am already leaning toward the gold.

Those are sweet! If you have not already invested in the heads, give Aquarian Z-100 single plies a go. Roy developed them exclusively for these thinner shells. I know this from a personal phone call he made to me about these heads. You may have to have your local drum shop order them or you can order them directly from the manufacturer. They are made for these thin shells and have powerful, yet subtle tone to them. Remember, Roy Burns was a Slingerland endorser and a bit of a jazz artist and knows a thing or two about making these old tubbies sound great.
