Should I break my kit up for sale?

Loading...

I am selling my set of 70's Blue Vistas in Bonham sizes (26x14, 14x10,16x16,16x18). My question is, should I break them up and sell them individually? The only drum that is orphaned is the 26 but it is the same year (or as close as I can tell).

I know the appeal of "Bonham" kits sometimes drives up the prices (stupid or not....) so I may be better off selling together? I was already offered $2K for the 4 pieces (no snare) and I don't know if I can expect more than that apart.

Anyway.....what do you guys think?

From what I saw on Ebay, 26's are going from 500 to 775 (a blue 14/26), 18 inch toms in the 500 range, didn't see any 10x14's. My guess is that you'll do as well selling it outright rather than parting it. I saw your ad for the complete kit and you would be approaching fairly close to that at 2000 with all of the other stuff to sell off. I'm thinking you could get at least 400 out of the 402 alone.

No Don't breakup the kit. Sale it altogether.

Some one would buy it at the drum show..

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

$2000 is a good offer, especially if you don't have to ship.

Thanks guys.

Yeah...I hate to sell them seperate. Just the work of shipping.

Anyway, I'm in no hurry so I'll wait and see. I remember I had a 7 line '64 Dyna that couldn't break $400 here in the States but I waited and sold it for nearly $600 overseas.

I'm facing the same dilemma. I've vowed to keep my kit together. If we don't do this the collecting world will be a mess of orphaned kits. :)

Keep them together. The right buyer will come along.

If you decide to sell the kit as a whole, would that include the 402 or would you sell it separately? Assuming you still have the 402 or want to sell it at all.
