Every penny...or dollar counts man. Who's to say he won't find a five dollar COB Brass Supra?

I understand, believe me. I sell vintage drums for a living, and am not getting rich doing it. However, I find that it will really make someone's day, or week even, when rather than being stingy with $5, you just pay what they want, or even throw in an EXTRA $5! Then, when they find that $5 COB supra and want to sell it to a "drum person," chances are they are going to call you! I've had many doors opened to amazing drum deals just because I threw in a little extra for someone that I bought something small from in the past.

A lot of people include packaging materials and fees (ebay or paypal) in their shipping price. I feel like the majority of buyers that I sell to underestimate the actual cost of what it takes to ship something. Boxes aren't free, bubble wrap is not free, peanuts aren't free, oh and FYI if you pack your own boxes bubble wrap AND peanuts MUST be used in order for your insurance to be valid, believe me I found out the hard way, free wadded up newspaper is not acceptable packaging material. Insurance is now $2 per $100 of value at UPS, if you want insurance on that $500 snare, guess what its an extra $10 to ship. I rarely if ever come up even or under on my shipping quotes, tack on the rediculous fees from ebay and paypal, you're looking at $450 in your pocket on that $500 sale. It's just not worth it to me to sell on ebay anymore. Thank god for craigslist and VDF!

I totally concur with my fellow forum member deadhead you are so correct, also the drive expense to either the post office and or UPS or FedEx, the buyer See's the cost sticker on the package and thinks were rockefeller all of a sudden, I was a silver level power seller until recently and have opted out of the program and have cut way back on using FEEBAY, they are my last resort now, once again until you have walked a mile you don't understand, but i only charge real shipping cost and always loose money, my sale items has to make up that cost, which it doesn't,,Soap Box I know just a sellers side of the fence, thank you

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
