Shining up Cymbals....?

Loading...

Personally I only like the "old cymbal" look if its a nice even patina. My Formula 602's do not get cleaned. I clean my other Paiste's with Paiste Cymbal Cleaner. It works the best on Paiste cymbals in my experience. Then you can apply the Paiste Protector to keep it looking that way or it will just oxidize again.

You can try various waxes also to keep the shine. I have tried clear and paste type waxes and nothing works as good as the Paiste Protector for me.

Thanks alot all of you.

Infact I don´t care if my 30 years cymbals are shining - somehow it would be unnatural, wouldn´t it?

Then again a nasty cover of smoke, beer, unspecified grease etc. doesn´t do anything good to the sound.

What i ended up doing, was cleaning them up with white spirit, and then getting on top of them using that "Dremmel tool with a felt buffing wheel" that one of you guys suggested.

I´m happy with the result, and i´ll try to find time putting up a nice picture of the 1975 22" Paiste 2002, wich turned up to be the scoop of this deal.

Thanks again: Carsten M
