Gotta love the mimed videos.
I wouldn't pay much mind to what the video portrays for hi hats. With all the variables that could be in play (microphones, EQ, compression, etc.), the drummer could have played anything from Cambers to old K Zildjian top and Paiste 602 bottom. I am certain that in many cases, the drummers record with whatever is in the studio and the sound can be tweaked. I have to say if I were sampling hi hats, that's a sound I would love to have!!!
This reminds me of when I would see Peter Criss playing fibreglass Pearl concert tom kits on videos and then found out later he mainly recorded with Slingerlands.
