You can use any size. The kicker is the resolution. Everything on the web is 72 DPI (dots per inch). I use 640x360. Then crop as needed and use the "Save for Web" option. Windows Picture/Fax viewer has it. Upload the saved file. What camera/software are you are you using?

Blair, I set my camera on 3m (3 mega pixels) and it takes about a minute to load each photo but thet come out nice and big on this forum.

Below is an example, hope this answers your question.

I have my camera set to the maximum 12mp and resize them using this site:

I set #2 to 25% and #4 to Best and that works just fine for my pics...Every camera is different so a person may have to adjust the settings to what works best for them...
