Is it okay to offer services you are able to provide in exchange for drum gear on this site? What if the service has nothing to do with drums?
TIA,
Mitch

Hey, Mitch!
Personally, I think that is a great idea! Nothing wrong with this concept at all. Barter is an old and honourable way of dealing before the advent of paper and plastic. There have been a hell of a lot of threads started here which have little to do with vintage drums. Yours does, sir. Again, cool idea.

Hey thanks man! It does seem like it should be okay. I'll just see if anyone else chimes in, maybe even a moderator, before I let on what service I can offer...:)
I had a thread in the trade section once, trade finish work for drums. I did end up doing a couple of jobs in trade for some gear. It seamed to work fine but if I did it again I would be very specific in what I wanted in trade. I got a lot of offers for things I did not want. Plus, I was not real keen on doing work for someone I have never met in person, but that is just me, I am used to the old hand shake deals where you can look the guy in the eye and feel good about what you are both agreeing to do. So, think it over really good before advertising this concept.
DownTown!
No need for Mod intervention!... yet here I am.

Thanks all! I'll put it in the trade section, just what the service is, and be specific about what I'm looking for. I won't link our site in public but in private once interest [if any] is shown.

I think trading gear for services and services for gear is a great idea, and I bet it's going on here a lot more than we know. As long as both parties are happy with the arrangement, what's the harm? A couple years ago, I repaired the lifted seams on some Ludwig toms in exchange for a Majestic snare. A win/win. And even trading services for services can work out. In college, I gave a girl drum lessons in exchange for, well... other services ;). Better quit here before Tommy does have to intervene. Long live the barter system.
