Seriously - What is it & Who made it??

So now I am just totally at a loss on this. I got two of these posts in recently. They appear to be the upper half of either L-arms or cymbal booms. Says STAR Instruments across the top. That alone had me for a loop as I've never seen anything Star like it. Reached out to Ralf at Star-drums.de and he'd never seen anything like it either. So then I reach out to Tama. No one in the U.S. office has any idea, so they send the e-mail over to Japan. Nope, was never made by them at any time. Was there another STAR? Like there is two different Hoshino's??? It's a mystery gang, and we gotta solve it!

It looks similar to a Yamaha boom as well. I'm reminded of the ones from the '70s / '80s with those bulky tops.

It looks gauged for a drum kit roll cage more than a drum mount.
