Purdie, I think you should change your forum name to "The Dude" ;)

You're not just whistling through your hat. Back in the day, I was the director of a drug-free residential therapeutic community. (Phoenix House, in N.Y.) So yeah, you actually got a "professional" opinion. This is serious, John. If you don't take heed to what so many of your peers are telling you about yourself... you will die a lonely man. Like I said, honest people can forgive and accept a repentant soul. We're -all- working on ourselves. Or should be anyway...Peace, hope you find your way home.John
I don't even know how to whistle, again I thank you, but don't worry about me too much, I have a beautiful daughter who is taking architecture at UTSA and a girlfriend I love dealy, not to mention a loving mom, brother and sisters.Group Hug

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

That is a beautiful statement, I appreciate it and totally agree.
In every case, Jesus first required an individual step ... an action ... a move towards ... before he acted on a life.
After He spoke of casting the first stone, He turned to the adulterous woman and said to go and sin no more.
OK, please don't compare me to an adulterous woman, like I said, I don't think the things I've said here qualify as a sin.
Oh and btw, I have a ton of very nice vintage Ludwig and Rogers snare drums I was going to sell here to give one of you guys a shot at them before going on ebay, but since I'm "toast" I may reconsider. Look, I don't really care what you think of me on a personal level, but I can provide some very nice vintage drums at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider taking advantage of them.
Great! I was worried about making room on the shelf next to my Radio King, N&C/Zildjian, Supra, NOB '20's Pioneer, Jazzfest, RB 3 ply Gretsch, DW/Craviotto, Acro and others for those gems you're gonna not allow us.....

No one here has compared you with an adulterous woman. Should we? It's a verse from the bible. Jaghog stated it. You liked and appreciated it. I clarified it. You didn't like it and felt offended. Go figure.
It's the same verse. What changed?

I didn't write the bible. It says what it says. I can't appologize to you that the statement you liked and appreciated was centered around an adulterous woman and her accusers. I also can't change what He said to her. He told her to go and sin no more.
That's the story. Either you like it or you don't. Pick up the book and read it for yourself. Make your own call.
You're insinuating I'm offended because you quoted the bible, not so, first, jaghog never mentioned the adultress. Second, I know what the Bible says, but this discussion is getting carried away. Maybe I should have told him not to bring religion into this and nip it in the bud, now it's going too far. This whole thing is about me not having proper manners with some of my fellow members. Remember, no politics or religion.Group Hug

Now this is the kind of sarcastic humour I can appreciate.LoLoLoLo
