Im pleased and confused at the same time.I see young metal players playing thier vintage Luds and Gretsch kits like they,re trying to go through them.Now,it pleases me to see these old treasures in use but are these [or you] younger drummers playing them for thier rich mellow tones,,,or is it cool to be playing old stuff??..like retro...

Yes Wayne. Vintage is very "in" right now.
IMO, it is dumb, and very contradicting to
metal, but to each his own I guess.
Truth custom drums endorsers are almost
alway found using vintage mahagony 3 ply
with fiberskyn heads. In indie rock it is common
as well but much more suited for the style of music.
Bands like fleet foxes, and Ra Ra Riot use vintage
sounds. I like that kind of vintage personally, but
at any rate...yes, it's in. Very Very in.
At least for now.
