School closing/ dumpster save Dean finds a circa 1938 Sling Radio King almost

What do you guys think about this? I was tipped off to a school that is being torn down and the music department there did a cleaning out, well, more like throwing out of “old” drum gear. Isn’t this an amazing save? Looking for insight, where to find the snare side hoop, and strainer throw-off and butt plate. Not shown in the pic are the original red felt tone control and the missing quarter-sized piece of wrap. Also, you might not be able to see it, but the rim has the Slingerland engraving twice, about 2 lugs apart.

Open to all and any suggestions, comments and critique. Did I notice a post on hear about Radio King strainer/butt parts from this era costing an arm and a leg? Some guy on eBay has this in A+ condition for 1100 bucks! Thanks for your time. D. Walking

It is a 3-ply shell. How about a picture of the strainer/butt mounting holes? Diameter is 14" or 15"?

Nice find! Looks like it had the extended bridges/butt and a 3-point strainer...with a few additional holes, possibly from a replacement strainer.

If I go over to Wanted to Buy, since I have no experience with drums of this vintage, what am I asking for? I also have no idea what type of snares would've been on this drum. I also wondered if the double rim imprint is of any significance? Help2

+1 with Mark. This article will help you identify the correct strainer/bridges: http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_5_strainers_3point-1.html

'38-'41 per badge and strainer, does the shell have a date stamp? Nice find unfortunately the parts you're missing are some of the most sought after and the extra holes lower overall value.
