SBP Ludwig restore + first outing!

Hi all. Picked up a set of sky blue pearl Luddies last week, CL again. Really yellowed, alot of light to medium corrosion, but all there, buncha extras, etc. Stripped them, used the Turtle Wax "plastic headlight renewal" polish with an automotive buffer, and what a transformation. Check out the two toms together for a before and after effect. Late set, granitone interiors, 3 ply. Looks to be about '76 from the badge numbers. Really tuned up easy, little funny about heads. The Fiberskin was just dead on it, they actually sounded pretty good with the trashed, ancient Pinstripes that came on the. compromised with coated Emps. The first set of Luddies I ever got to play were SBP, so it's a real flashback for me. Plus, I've just gotten tired of sparkles. Initial outing was a winery club party. Went great.that bass drum, thru subs was just the ticket. Now, if gigs'd only pick up. Been a weak summer! More time to pick up and restore fun finds.........Aloha, Bill D.
