SBP Club - Show Your Monkey-Love
Bermuda - I'd be missing those! Bet they sounded great too.Oldschool - got any pix of the other kit? The one you showed us is drop-dead gorgeous man. My fav playing set-up is 1-up, 2-down. That kit starts my drool glands flowing.Jeff - That's beauty man! Just like the kit Bermuda sold, clubbies. I'll keep my eyes open for you. If I run into a matching floor tom in my travels, you'll get the heads-up.Keep em coming, guys. Beautiful drum sets. Don't have to be Ludwig... if you play SBP, post some shots please.John
JOHN: Here's a couple pics of my other SBP Luddy kit. It's my first kit. My dad bought it for me when I was 11. It's a 1963 Clubdate. For some reason it's in a 22/13/16 configuration, with the 16 being a Super Classic FT in lieu of a smaller clubdate one. Go figure! The kit came with the "clamp-on" tom mount which you can see in the second pic and a telescopic cymbal rod mounted directly in the center of the bass drum.
Crash - is that the 'modern' version of SBP? The newer stuff has that strong blue element and the striping effect seems more pronounced. The old stuff ages to either a mellow silver/grey or goes into the green family taking on distinct greenish cast. Yours looks spanking new! Nice kit.
mlvibes - It wasn't even mine, but I miss it too! lol Sweet kit man. Not many of those around.
Oldschool - Somebody was posting about a kit with the same configuration as yours, recently. I told him that I'd seen the configuration before and your kit is a perfect example. Clubbies with a 13 club rack, classic 16, club date 22 configuration are out there. Just not as many as the more common 12, 14, 20.
Thanks for posting the photos! More please...

No, it's old stuff. Olive/blue badges. Even came with a Camco bass pedal. They were not great looking when I got them. Stripped them, buffed them out with an automotive buffer and Meguire's PlastX, and waxed them. Viola! The PlastX is great on worn wraps. Just did a set of Slingy's with it. Made that old WMP look great! Here's a before and after shot of the SBP's....

that snare that i had the pic of all alone is a 70's wrap that was nos from mr. blaemires old stock from drumjinx. its a rewrap of a 6.5 chrome over wood like you did my new galaxy. cool huh?

Crash - I'm on that PlastX! That stuff works minor miracles on wrap! Did you use a powerball to buff it in, or all by hand? The before and after difference is dramatic. Your tubs look like new. Thanx for the tip.
Mike:
It figures! The drum came out killer. Did Jerry wrap it for you or did you do the deed yourself? Whoever, it came out a stunning looking drum. That it's a deep one is a big plus. It must make a mighty sound. Blaemire wrap eh? How cool is that? Adds to the drums' mojo. You have a special drum there my friend.

dfo member and friend of mine, jazzdrummer(matt) did it. he went with a keystone badge on it but it still has the p85 and other period parts. it has a clear maple interior as opposed to the brown granitone like the one you did. this was his project and i bought it from him when it came up for sale. playing with my sky blues right now. sounds beefy!

Used an auto type buffer, terrycloth bonnet. Gets much effect then doing them by hand. Unless you've got strong wrists, and really persistent. Cheap one's fine. I think mine was about $29.00 at Sears....
