Cool wrap, and another Japanese name I've never heard of!

Going to post some pics of my MIJ set here soon.

Welcome!

Please post the pix, not just the link. Kinda how things work around here as the link will die in 30 days or so. Those are worth taking the time to snag the pix and post as they are on immaculate condition. Looks like they were played for like 6 months and then put in the closet for the 35 years.

Wow those are so tasty looking.

Reminds me of the taffy my sister and I used to make back in the old days.

Nice Kit.

Wow - the price is moving up quickly on these but the seller has a high reserve on them...

Wow, I am very surprised to see them go that high, and with more than 5 days to go! I guess it is the fact it is, afterall, a complete kit with stands and cymbals, albeit cheap MIJ tin, in amazing condition, with original heads all around. What I see happening is the bidders are going to realize the reserve is probably $500, and then realize they are still MIJ and stop dead in the water. I would not, no matter, pay that much for them. I just can't see them going much higher than they are now.

It seems to me with the MIJ kits the really unusual wraps, bring the most money, that coupled with the unusual lugs, badges and condition plus completeness is getting the price up there, but I don't see it going for 5 bills either.

Dang, 2:30AM 3-29 and they are at $431.00. This just does not look right, but the bidders are both responsible and experienced buyers. Go figure, a complete Candy Cane LaBoz approaching the $500 mark. It is true that the wilder and more rare the wrap, the more interest, but you still need to work over the edges a tad in order to get them up into the sweet spot.

On these thicker shells, I tend to slightly alter the original contour of the edge to be just a tiny bit sharper than it is, using likely closer to a roundover than sharp. If they had re-rings, I would do a Gretsch type of edge profile, but then this is unlikely to be the case.

Just checked on these again and the price is over $500 - but the reserve still hasn't been met. How high could the reserve be??
