Hey everybody....

This is my first "Official" posting. I have replyed a few times but this is the First Posting I have started.

I am very much into Vintage Tama drums, but also Slingerland, Ludwig, Zildjian, you name it.

I Own and Enjoy a 23 and a half yr old Vintage Tama "SuperStar" kit in the Neil Peart configuration! I even ordered the shells to be "ArtStar" shells, but made to LOOK like Spuerstars, with a nice Bright Candy Apple Red finish!

For those whom would Like to see pics of this Kit in all her glory, please go to the link at the bottom of this Posting. They are old pics and I have done some Updating on the kit since those pics were taken.

I added "secondary" Legs to the Out Board sides of the bass drums, a stronger more "Correct" cymbal stacker post between the 18" Med. Crash and the 22" Ping Ride, rebuilt the "Sidny" trigger between the 12"& 13" toms, but otherwise the kit remains the same!

For those whom might wonder...."What is it like to acctually PLAY a kit like that?" I can some it up in one word.....AWSOME!!!!

I am Lucky EVERY DAY of my Life BECAUSE I have a drum kit like that!

I am not trying to brag, just acknowledgeing that I AM Very Luckt to have it! When ever I might feel like I am being shorted in life, all I need do is just LOOK at pics of my wonderfull kit and realize that I have to be one of THE Luckiest Drummers on the Planet!

I might not have Neil Peart's ACCTUAL "Weapon" Kit, but I have the next best thing! And I am proude of her!

Hello!

Welcome

That's a mean kit you got there - looks TERRIFIC and the story tied to it is great, too. See, we like when things have history and your drums certainly do!

Once again, welcome and have a great time drumming and participating in this unique forum!

Peace

Wow ... and welcome.

Here's a couple of things that will put this kit into focus a bit more.

1. Because Peart had his shells Fiberglassed on the inside, a standard Superstar kit doesn't put out the Peart sound. BECAUSE you chose the Artstar all Maple shell, your sound will actually be closer to the Peart sound. Cool and neat stuff. That was a brilliant move.

2. It was actually the Crestar that replaced the Superstar for a short period. After a year or two, the Granstar was released as a way for Tama to bring the kit into the MTV world. As Tama put it, "Tama has auspiciously entered the video age." In other words, same shells, more flashy wraps and hardware.

Hello, and Welcome. I'm a young a young Rush fan, and I read your story a few years ago, I really enjoyed it. I'd like to welcome you here, and to complement you on you're amazing kit. Also, a question if you don't mind, but how do you mount your tri-bells on the cowbell tree? I never could figure out how Neil did it. I'd like to see some updated pics of that monster too! It's great to get to talk to someone with a Neil Peart replica kit! Yes, you're lucky.

Peace
