Salem Snare

Hello All,

A friend of mine just acquired a WMP 13" x 5" wood Salem snare. It definitely is vintage MIJ because of the grain pattern of the wood. Has anyone ever heard of this "brand" of MIJ? Just looking to get any info for him.

The badge is an oval like Star badge that is black in color and it just says Salem on it.

Sorry that I don't have any pics at the moment. He emailed them to me, but they are in the wrong format so I can't resize them to within the Forum's restrictions.

If I figure out how to change the format, I will gladly post pics.

Thanks in advance

Cheers.

I got another new one to add to the collection, got it for 10, and it is a 9 ply bass. 20", in blue sparkle. "Sorento" is the new badge.

Jonnistix, something is wrong with your photo:

Either the badge (Star, as we agreed in our earlier discussions) or the tom holder bracket (Pearl-like) was mounted afterwards ...

? ?

Yep, it has been hacked. The mount is a later addition. I have the original Star large rail. I may, or may not, reinstall it. It is one of the 9 ply shells, and since I acquired a 3 ply as well, it may go to that one instead. The 9 ply was more of a "you have to take it if you want that wood hoop even tho it goes with the other drum" I only wanted the one, but was rather forced to take 2 20" bass drums. Now I have 3 20" bass, all in blue sparkle. Only one is unmolested. That would be the Majestic.

Anyone need a 20" bass? I think I have one to let go of. I will make any needed repairs, and may even refinish in a custom do.
