Safe way to remove adhesive residue from calf heads?

Hi,

Is there a safe way to remove tape residue from calf heads? The residue has probably been on the heads for decades... see photo.

Goo-Gone works great. Spray it on, then allow it to soak into the dried adhesive. One or two applications ought to do the trick. Best of luck with your project.

Wet the head from the backside FIRST before using any type of Goo removal product. The Goo removal products contain some sort of Acetone base, which will dry out and cause cracks in the head. Go easy with Q-tips or cotton balls. Wipe with clean white cloth to dry.

Thank you both! The head was off the drum, so I ended up soaking the head in water for awhile and was able to remove the residue easily.

Good catch, JR! Hadn't thought of that...
