S hoops/rims for 13-6 lug snare

For my new Blaemire 13 by 7 3/8 snare. 6 lug. To build.

I cannot find a die cast 13, 6 hole snare side rim with the slots pre-cut.

Has anyone tried the "S" hoops.

Supposedly the strength of die cast without taking the tone out of the drum.

Never tried S rims before.

Cheaper than die cast and I can get one with slots.

Or I can get 2 regular 13-6 die casts and cut slots in lower rim myself.

Any experience with S things.

Note, a flange sticks out into the playing area about 1/4 to 3/8 inch on the S rims.

I guess it is like extending the length of the top most flange and sending it towards the center.

drumaker has them.

Have used them, love them. They sit much closer to the head and seem to do exactly as described.
