I have a question for everyone...I just changed my heads and restored my original Sonor Phonics Plus snare P506. Measurements are 14 x 6 1/2. When I opened it up, I found rubber tubing along the inside of the snare side bearing edge. I also found Bic pens stuffed vertically in the shell, each end of the pen covered with the same rubber tubing. I brought the shell to a local shop, and the guy I asked had no idea whatsoever why someone would do this. Oh, I also forgot to mention when I opened up the tubing, it was stuffed with BBs. Why would someone do this? Just for damping purposes? It still boggles me. Any ideas??
