Hi Folks, I'm now the happy owner of a original and complete Royal drumset, probably from the early 60's. For those of you who don't know: Royal is a Dutch brand. The drums were build by hand in a small workshop in Amsterdam. For as far as I know (experts please correct me) the builders (2 man) only produced drumsets on demand, so every set is unique and custom in a sense. They did produce standard snare drums and marching drums though.
The set is 22/13/13/16 without a snare, but I allready own a perfectly matching COB Royal snare drum. The shells are thin (I think birch) with 4 (!) re-rings. The re-rings are very thick, so the drums are rigid and perfectly in round still. The hardware is all brass (mix of cast, solid and flanged).
There are a few small parts missing, but otherwise no big issues. The previous owner allready cleaned and polished it, and restored the BD hoops to the original colour. :-)
Once I get it up and running I'll make some decent pictures and put those in the gallery
