Rootbeer Raven Clubbies my latest find

Good day everyone,

Wanted to share some pics of a set I just picked up. It's a Raven kit in the Tiger Eye Pearl, aka: Rootbeer Swirl. The sizes are 20'', 12'', 14'' with a 14'' snare. All the drums are 3 ply with re-rings. The hats are 12'', 20'' crash / ride and a 14'' crash, all of which are stamped Japan. The large ride with the sizzler is a 22'' Ajax.

I bought these from the original owner who said he bought them around 1970. He kept very good care of them and even managed to hold onto the original hardware and matching snare (miracle). The only thing missing are three of the Raven badges which I will have made up. Also included was another bass pedal, a silver sparkle Tempo 14'' snare with stand & cymbal holder and a bunch of sticks, brushes and mallets.

Can't wait to clean these up. They should look really nice.

I love the wrap. Just wondering where you had the badges made up as I have an raven floor tom that could use a badge as well as a crown set that is missing some badges. thanks, tom

I just picked up the same exact kit and they have the square Whitehall badge instead. My floor tom also has the double lugs and is a 16". I wish mine were the 14" instead... Congrats!

I agree with the powerstroke 3 ...!

I had the exact same kit (made by Bolero) however my flr was a 16"..

snare (upgraded the wires) & rack tom & bass drum sounded amazing..flr tom was always weak..

Until i removed the reso skin & put the BIG rubber stoppers on the flr Legs..

Then it went baboom..Laughing H

The finish is nice, really.

Finally it's a mix of a Pearl made set (Raven) with a neat 'Snare drum kit', made by Star (that Tempo snare drum plus stand).
