Here's my estimate.......A buttload to the right collector. A cowbell/block holder like that one went for close to $200 not long ago on ebay. Not that I would separate anything from this outfit, but just as an example of the worth of one small part of the kit.A totally complete set like that, down to the cymbals, throne, stands, and spurs doesn't come around very often at all.If the cymbals are old Ks, then it could be not a home run, but a grand slam !!!Great find, and please keep posting on your progress. Ia'm with KEVINS on this your set complete with cymbals ete..cleaned up alittle you are looking at any were from 2,000.00 to 2,500.00+ for a complete set..These are hard to come by complete..Mikey
I'll let you know more about the condition when I actually have the drums. My sister is supposed to drop them off to me at the end of April. The waiting is killing me!
Ok Cool, this is a very rare kit with a small market, that is not a bad thing,if it where mine $1000.00, as long as there are no major issues! but i would probably detail it before the sale to increase appeal and sale value! if you don't know how to do it properly sell it as is!
not sure what you're smoking but these are worth much more than $1k. I can't imagine you'd get less than $2k for them. The only bummer is the tacked on bottom heads (I think these are earlier versions?).
I found a set on craigslist before I even knew what they were. They're not pristine but for god's sake they're 70 years old! Most of the drums had original calf skin heads which I have removed and stored. I honestly bought these for furniture because they're simply beautiful. Turns out they sound REALLY good. I use the 26" kick on many MANY recordings. The snare has found it's way onto a handful as well. I use the entire kit (toms and all) if I'm looking for a specific sound, very warm and dry.
I understand why you are curious to the value of these but I do recommend you hold onto them and treasure them for as long as the wife lets you! They don't show up for sale very often and usually demand unrealistic prices. I have quite a few kits and this is truly the last one I'd ever sell. I'd sell the family car before these!
The wooden lugs point to WWII years, as well as the tacked on heads. The reason, as stated earlier, was due to rationing. The mid-40s would be correct era for this kit. Not trying to start a fight, but...."Rolling Bomber" was a 30s-40s kit.
