A few weeks ago I spied this 'blink or you miss it' shot in a yootoob vid:

It looks like the same wrap used for the bass drum beater has also been used to mute the snare. The backing band in this video were probably German, so did Sonor/whoever sell felt strips so that you could roll your own beaters?
