Rogers WMP "Jazz" outfit

Loading...

Here is another view of my "small" Rogers Jazz set. I played an incredible venue last night and the photographer at the gig took this and sent it to my email today. This shot was taken right after sound check. I've been playing this set with the "Smooth Jazz Quartet" that I work with. The 14X18 has an amazing amount of depth for such a small drum, and of course in the house/monitor's it sounds like a 14X24!... yet very easy for the sound engineer to control/mix due to it's size and "compactness" of sound. He loved it!

TommyP:

Why do you continue to "torture" us with that flat out GORGEOUS kit of yours? It simply doesn't get any better than that. THANKS for sharing!

OMG!... I could be in big trouble here, I mean... isn't "torture" illegal??!! :-) THANKS as always for your comments! I also have another view that I will probably change out with this one as it shows the 14X18 to excellent advantage. GLAD you liked em!!

Ploughman!...

Very nice Tommy. I would'nt say that rogers or Ludwig are better. They just have thier own sounds. Two of my close friends have 60's rogers sets and they are very well made, look great and sound great. Especially the kick drums! I will always remain a Ludwig guy though. That is my sound.

My 1972-ish jazzette is the balls for me. I love that set and the 18 sounds great!

Well, my Camco bop kit (18,12,14) is green sparkle. Maybe that has something to do with it. My Rogers jazz kit (20,12,14x16)is just about to get a new black wrap job though.

Nice to hear from you!... and THANKS for the very nice words too! You know, with deference to The Ploughman, I personally have never said that Rogers are "better" drums than Ludwig... or Slingerland... or Gretsch... or... Camco... or... well, you get the idea! Every brand has their legions of fans, that's for sure! True, Rogers are "my" favorite drums, and the drums that best get "my" sound... but I also own WFL/Ludwig and Slingerland... ( ALL BR models/configurations ) ... and I have complete and total respect for everybody's personal preferences! THANKS for looking and commenting! :-)

You know I was just funnin' there right... a small attempt at levity it was! Green Sparkle drums are GORGEOUS... and Camco's to boot in THOSE sizes... NICE!! You have to get a pic up so we can see 'em!! I would be remiss to not add that your Rogers sound like a nice set too!! :-)
