Rogers Wine Red Ripple

Loading...

I picked this kit up recently but it was missing some hardware, all bottom rims & heads and the resonant bass drum head & hoop. It also needed in-lays for the wooden bass drum hoops so I installed silver sparkle ones since I knew that there was no way I'd actually find WRR ones that would match the original wrap on the drums.

Drums are in a 20/13/13/16 configuration. All are Cleveland-era Holiday models. The floor tom has a Knobby mount installed for a crash cymbal. The nice thing about the bass drum is that it's got all the required hardware for the kit to be used as either as a 4-piece or 5-piece.

I added a Rogers Cleveland-era Silver Sparkle Powertone snare drum, two Rogers Swan Leg cymbal stands and a Rogers Swiv-O-Matic bass drum pedal which I already had "in house" to complete the kit.

Beautiful! Great find. How does she sound?

As an aside, I remember seeing somewhere on the forum that it's possible to remove the Remo logo from a smooth head using a bit of nailpolish remover. It might be worth trying if you want to get rid of the Remo logo on your bass reso. Either way, though, that set looks gorgeous.

THANKS for the info regarding the nailpolish remover. I believe that I've heard that somewhere also. I think I might just give it a try. I appreciate the input!

The kit sounds GREAT BTW. Thanks for asking!

My pleasure! Glad to hear the kit sounds great.

I should add that I've never tried the nailpolish remover trick myself, so it's worth testing on an old head before trying it on your pristine reso. If you do try it, let me know how it works.

Enjoy!
