If I understand correctly in Rogers 1960's wood snares the order of 'quality'
might go like this:
Dynasonic, Powertone, Tower, Luxor and Student.
Seems like Rogers made more lines of stuff than Ludwig and Slingerland
back in the 60's too . . .

In the '60s, Slingerland had many models of snares, not including metal or marching drums. Like Rogers, most used one of two types of shells, and the rest of the difference were the lugs, strainer and hoops...
Rich K. is right on the mark here... ALL the drum companies had a pretty full line of snare drums, not just Rogers. I may be a bit biased as I am a Rogers guy first, but that said:
Rogers... Slingerland ... Ludwig... even Gretsch, had at least four different wood models offered, not even counting the COB/Steel offerings. EricP!... you are correct though. You have the order of Rogers in order so to speak! Dynasonic... Powertone... Tower... Luxor... is correct, and, they did all share the same shell too. As Rich K. mentioned, the hardware changed: Throw... hoops... lugs, with the entry level/student models usually having only 6 lugs.
